EQUALITY
At justyouroutfit empowerment is a key aspect of our business model. Currently we have an equal share of men and women staffs within our in-office, warehouse and suppliers' teams. We want the future of our world to be rooted in equality, diversity and with a respect for nature. To complete this vision, we need to lead by example.
SUSTAINABILITY
Every step counts and we have taken a big step to reduce our paper usage by going paperless! All our returns will now be processed online for our UK customers. We have a smart returns solution in place for our shoppers who want a refund. Our next goal is to minimize our plastic usage, we aim to reduce at least 50% of our plastic packaging by 2023 and use fully recycled packaging across our business.
We believe that fashion is for everyone and represents their expression, however the impact that fashion has on the planet is detrimental and we are committed to taking considerable steps to becoming more sustainable.
FIBRE PRODUCTION
All our items include the material makeup of them on their labels. We use a variety of fibres, polyester, cotton and viscose being the most common. We are aware that each of these fibres have a unique impact on the environment. Polyester is produced using fossil fuels, conventional cotton production requires a lot of water and fertilizer to grow viscose is made from wood pulp, it requires various chemicals in its production which may be harmful. We aim to use the ethically sourced versions of these fibres such as recycled polyester, sustainable cotton like as OCS (Organic Content Standard) cotton, and responsibly sourced viscose.
Our black JYO t-shirt is our first product made from 100% ethically sourced OCS cotton.
Our production numbers are kept to a minimum. We use a test-and-repeat approach within our business, which means we order a small batch of products to be manufactured to test the performance. If they do well, more products are made. This minimises the labour of our staffs in the factory and the affect apparel production has on the environment.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
We need you to play your part too. There are many actions you can take to reduce the damage to our planet. One is to hold onto your clothes for a little longer. We understand the urge to wear something once then throwing it at the back of your wardrobe like it never existed but repeating outfits (it's not as bad as you think and even Kate Middleton does it) will ensure that a lower number of apparels is being produced and the environment is hurting less. Also, make sure you are following the care label's instruction of washing your clothes carefully to avoid damaging your clothes and try washing your clothes in eco-friendly mode.
Styling you clothes differently each time you wear it is fun and it helps the planet. If you do want to make some space in your wardrobe, you can donate your unwanted clothing on the reGain app to get exclusive Justyouroutfit coupons in return. Donate to charity, help the planet and look good whilst doing so.
PRE ORDER
At Justyouroutfit, we have the option of 'Pre Order' for our customers to ensure we do not mass-produce stock we do not need.
Giving customers the option to pre order allows us to order the exact amount of garments needed from our suppliers, minimising unnecessary labour from our workers and the damage apparel production causes to the environment.
We aim to expand this feature to all our products.
